Aerosmith cancels Las Vegas residency dates after Steven Tyler registers for rehab

Aerosmith has canceled its summer residency dates in Las Vegas because leader Steven Tyler enrolled in a drug rehab center.

The band’s ‘Deuces Are Wild’ residency was scheduled to begin on Park MGM’s Dolby Live on June 17 and run through December 11.

However, the band announced today (May 24) in an Instagram post that the June and July dates will not continue because Tyler has suffered a relapse after a recent foot surgery.

“As many of you know, our dear brother Steven has been working on his sobriety for many years,” Aerosmith wrote. “After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the need to control pain during the process, she recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to focus on her health and recovery.

“We are sorry to inform our fans and friends that we have to cancel our first set of residency dates in Las Vegas this June and July while he focuses on his well-being.”

The band said it will now begin residency in September and will inform fans of any updates “as soon as we can.”

“We are devastated to have bothered so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who often travel long distances to live our shows,” they continued. “Thank you for your understanding and support of Steven during this time.”

All tickets for canceled shows will be refunded at your point of purchase.

Earlier this year, Aerosmith canceled its 2022 delayed tour of the UK and Europe due to “uncertainty about travel logistics and the continued presence of VOCID restrictions and other issues”.

The band was also expected to perform at this year’s Glastonbury Festival after being previously confirmed for the 2020 edition. However, Aerosmith is not part of this year’s lineup.

Aerosmith, meanwhile, announced in March that longtime drummer Joey Kramer would take a “temporary leave” from the band.
