FT: Sydney Swans 16.10 (106) d Richmond Tigers 15.10 (100)
The Swans have outscored the Tigers to win a classic Friday night football game at the SCG.
Lance Franklin scored five goals and won the best ground medal with former Swans senior Michael O’Loughlin presenting the Goodes-O’Loughlin Medal and the Marn Grook Trophy for both clubs.
“This is for my people,” Franklin said as he thanked the crowd and acknowledged how special this round of Sir Doug Nicholls is.

The swans win but a very spectacular end
The Swans held on to victory, but Dion Prestia received a free kick after the siren when he could have had a 50m penalty.
The Swans pushed Prestia just a second before the siren and the referee fired a free kick, but the siren fired and Chad Warner threw the ball to celebrate.
The referees could have scored a penalty of 50 m, but they said it was common sense to give only a free kick considering that the siren had come out.
Prestia had no chance of making the distance from 60 meters and his torpedo fell short.

Swans spread the lead
