Melbourne’s Jake Melksham has been widely condemned for a cute act caught on Fox Footy cameras ahead of Friday night’s contest against Fremantle in Perth.
As the Demons raced up and into Optus Stadium, a fan hung a Fremantle guernsey on the wall as the players passed.

Melksham, however, took exception to the Guernsey and ripped it from the fans’ hands before throwing it on the ground right near the goal. As more players made their way through the race, Christian Petracca grabbed the guernsey and threw it further under the goal.
The guernsey had a number six written on the back along with Jackson, a nod to Melbourne ruckman Luke Jackson, who has been linked with a high-profile move to the Dockers.
The act was picked up by observers and the reaction came to flood the Melbourne company.
“Jake Melksham grabbing a Freo guernsey from a fan and throwing it on the ground is not spectacular,” one fan wrote.
“Pretty average from Melksham & Petracca,” added another.
“Grow up Melksham. It’s not hard to ignore the guernsey,” added another.

The Demons burst out of the blocks in the opening term, kicking the first three goals of the contest before the Dockers started their first major.
A close contest saw the Dees head into the first break holding a 4.3 (27) to 2.2 (14) lead.
