Australia’s Alex de Minaur is on course to re-enter the world top 20 weeks since the US Open after sweeping the Atlanta Open in Georgia.
The 23-year-old clinched his sixth ATP title, and first in 2022, with a straight sets win over Jenson Brooksby in Atlanta.
It was his second win at the tournament, having also won the title in 2019, after which he reached the fourth round of the US Open, which starts at the end of August.

Entering the tournament as the third seed, De Minaur proved too strong for world number 43 Brooksby in the final, taking just over 90 minutes to secure victory.
It will be enough for the Australian to rise from his current ranking of 30th to 21st, and in view of his career-high ranking of 15th.
More to come…
