The Jan. 6 congressional committee investigating the Capitol riots has now requested access to Jones’ text messages, which Bankston said he intended to provide to the committee unless the judge intervened. The committee had previously requested records and a statement from Jones about his role in the riots, in which supporters of former President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
