There was some surprise when bride Nicola Peltz opted not to wear a single piece by her fashion designer mother-in-law Victoria Beckham throughout her three-day wedding celebration in April.
And now the fashion world is reeling from a cold feeling between the two women, which is playing out on social media.
Instagram insiders note that after the wedding, Peltz rarely “likes” any of David or Victoria Beckham’s posts, and the celebrity couple almost never likes any of theirs.
For example, neither David nor Victoria liked Nicola’s Tatler cover post calling herself ‘The new Mrs Beckham’. Neither threw in a like for a photo of Peltz’s mother, Claudia, which Nicola captioned, “Family is everything to me.”

Even more curiously, neither David nor Victoria liked a series of photos of their son and new daughter-in-law’s wedding taken from Vogue and posted on Nicola’s Instagram.
In a similar vein, Nicola didn’t like Victoria’s happy birthday wishes to daughter Harper this year. And neither she nor Brooklyn liked Victoria’s recent posts wishing David a happy wedding anniversary.
It wasn’t always like that. Last summer, in the three months between the beginning of June and the end of August, Victoria liked 20 of Nicola’s posts, exclaiming on August 29: “Kisses! We love you!’
In that same period, Nicola liked 25 of Victoria’s posts, from her future mother-in-law’s fashion collection featured in Vogue Korea to her eyeliners.
But since the weddings, something seems to have changed.

In May, Nicola didn’t too subtly distance herself from her in-laws when she told Vogue magazine: “Their wedding was amazing, but the wedding we were most inspired by was Iman and David Bowie’s.”
They tell me: “There is a feeling that the Peltzes rather turn their noses up at the Beckhams… the way they go about things and their celebrity profile.
Meanwhile, the Peltz clan has truly embraced Brooklyn. There is a feeling that Brooklyn is now about the Peltz family and not the Beckhams.
Brooklyn has been renamed Peltz Beckham. And he’s certainly being encouraged by his 80-year-old father-in-law, who built his fortune in food and catering, in his new career as a foodie and food influencer.

The pair have not been photographed together and are rarely seen on Instagram, but have spent time together at family occasions, most recently at Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding in Palm Beach.

The Beckhams own a £5m Riva yacht, named Seven, after former England player David Beckham’s shirt number. The 93-foot yacht is moored in Miami and has room for ten guests and four crew members.
A source close to the family told the Mail on Sunday: “Victoria loves nothing more than seeing her children happy and loves a big family event, so she wants a massive summer holiday. She and David they’ve gotten to know their partners pretty well, but it’s a bit of a surprise that Cruz’s girlfriend is going, since they’ve only been together for a while.

Cruz kept it casual in orange shorts as he chatted with girlfriend Tana, who wrapped herself in a white towel after going for a swim.
At one point, the teenager also donned a life jacket while riding in a speedboat alongside Tana.
Cruz was spotted enjoying a night out at London pub Alice House in Queen’s Park with Tana last month and is believed to have met her earlier this year.

Nicola and Brooklyn enjoyed a whirlwind romance after first going public with their budding relationship in November 2019, when pictures emerged of them cuddling up before they got engaged in July 2020, just eight months later.
