Sony’s game state was held on June 2 and was packed with big announcements and screenings. With E3 2022 sent canceled, publishers are getting their hands on new and exciting previews of their video games. This State of Play opened the Summer Games Fest and gave us a surprisingly good deal.
Let’s look at it all in June State of Play, including Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy 16, Street fighter 6 and more!

Resident Evil 4 Remake
It has long been rumored, and turns out to be real: the Resident Evil 4 remake is happening. And it will be out in less than a year! The short trailer featured some iconic locations and characters from the 2005 original. But the remake looks a lot darker than the old version (honestly, they said “Screw Gamma”). If it’s even half as good as that Peoplethen we are ready for something special here.
The remake of Resident Evil 4 will be released on March 24, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and Steam.
Street Fighter 6
We already SF 6 was expected to be seen in this show but hey … it still surprised me. There will be a … open world adventure mode? A Street Fighter? What? Of course, the fight seems as fun as ever and the legends are here too, as beautiful as ever (Bearded Ryu … I can’t even). But the new adventure mode is the show here. It is very exciting to see what Capcom came here to give new life to this legendary series.
Street Fighter 6 will arrive next year on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam and Xbox Series X | S.
Calisto’s protocol
This game looks amazing and creepy. The Callisto protocol is the new game from the former developers of Dead Space. And you know what? You probably guessed it by watching the trailer. Check it out!
The Callisto protocol release date is December 6, it will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.
Deviated
Here at EarlyGame we love Stray and honestly … how can you not? You are a cute kitten in a beautiful and exciting Cyberpunk world. This is the perfect game.
Stray will be released on July 19 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. PlayStation Plus members you will get the game at no extra cost.
Final Fantasy 16
The last big thing on the show was the final trailer for Final Fantasy 16. And boy, did it give us our hype. This game looks absolutely amazing. Especially the call, they are the star of the show. Man, it feels good to be excited about a Final Fantasy game again…
Final Fantasy 16 will be released in the summer of 2023, exclusively on PlayStation 5 and PC.
Current state of June: the best of the rest
These were our highlights of the show, but there were also many other commercials and games. Here is a brief summary of the other games:
- Spider-Man Remastered arrives on PC! Release date: August 12.
- Rollerdome is the new game from the developers of OlliOlli, and it looks like a lot of fun. Release date: August 16, PS5 and PS4.
- Lots of VR stuff! PSVR 2 arrives and Sony showed a series of games that will arrive on the platform in the near future: No Man’s Sky VR, Horizon: Call of the MountainResident Evil Village i month!
