Amazfit has launched its new GTS 4 Mini, updating one of our favorite budget smartwatches.
It’s a curious release. First, the company has yet to unveil its flagship GTS / GTR 4 devices. And we never received a GTS 3 Mini – the latest release was the GTS 2 Mini, which landed in January 2021.
The GTS 2 Mini was one of our favorite and most recommended smart watches, thanks to a price of less than $ 100 / £ 100 and a serious list of features.
We heard that the GTS 2 Mini got to the perfect spot for cheap smartwatches, and it’s pretty clear that Amazfit did too. It has taken two years to update it and few beautiful changes have been made to the design or features.
Screen and specifications of the Amazfit GTS 4 Mini
In front and in the center is a full 1.65-inch AMOLED and now has always active functionality.
The lower-end model, the new Amazfit Bip 3 Pro, uses a lower-quality TFT display, which is a big noticeable degradation, and that means the GTS 4 Mini still represents good value.
As before, the GTS 4 Mini has integrated GPS, so it’s good for outdoor workouts and has a 5ATM rating for water resistance, so it’s also suitable for swimming in the pool.
The GTS 4 Mini includes a heart rate sensor and a SpO2 monitor, and will warn if it detects low blood oxygen levels.
And sports modes have been increased to more than 120, although most of these are just basic exercise labels and don’t offer much tracking or specific metrics.
But aside from those headline numbers, it hasn’t changed much. The Amazfit GTS 4 Mini still uses Zepp Health’s standard sleep tracking, leverages PAI as a measure of weekly activity and effort, and offers basic monthly monitoring.
The GTS 4 Mini has only been launched in India so far, and those interested can only register to be notified. We have no idea of prices or global availability. But we doubt you will have much to look forward to.
