Amber Heard must officially pay Johnny Depp $ 10.35 million (£ 8.43 million) to damage his reputation after the defamation judge filed a written order.
On Friday, Judge Penney Azcarate formalized the jury’s award by introducing a sentencing order into the court record after a brief hearing in Virginia.
She has also ordered Depp to pay Heard $ 2 million (£ 1.62 million), the jury award for the actress’ reprimand which was defamed by one of her ex-husband’s lawyers.
The order was processed after the jury announced its verdict earlier this month, largely on Depp’s side.
Depp sued Heard over a December 2018 article for The Washington Post, in which he described himself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”
The jury ruled in favor of Depp on all three of his claims related to specific statements of the piece and found that he should receive $ 10 million (£ 8.14 million) in compensatory damages.
They also ruled that he should be paid $ 5 million (£ 1.22 million) in punitive damages, but the judge reduced it to $ 350,000 (£ 285,000).

During the sensational televised trial, the couple revealed frightening details of their short marriage, which was headlined around the world.
Heard has said he plans to appeal the verdict.
Judge Azcarate explained that if Heard appeals, he must pay a bail of $ 10.35 million while the appeal is pending.
