Fredericton police say a man’s body was recovered from Lake Killarney on Sunday.
Police and firefighters responded to a report of someone who “was swimming and didn’t get out of the water” around 8 p.m. Saturday. A diving team searched the lake on Sunday.
Killarney Lake Park’s trail and beach system was closed Saturday during the initial response and Sunday morning. The park reopened around 2:45 p.m. once the scene was cleared.
“We are unable to provide further details at this time as the matter is still under investigation,” Fredericton police spokeswoman Sonya Gilks said in an email.
