Anger at Strictly Judge Len Goodman’s comments on the BBC’s Jubilee program

A strictly Come Dancing star has aroused fury after admitting that she had never tried curry before because her dwarf called her a “foreign fire”.

Appearing on the BBC’s Platinum Jubilee Event, Len Goodman was seen wrinkling his face as he admitted that he had never eaten the dish.

The professional dancer and judge of Strictly said he had “always been worried” about food after his dwarf’s comments.

Chef John Torode was laughed at immediately after the 78-year-old’s comments.

BBC presenter Kirsty Young was silent as Goodman explained his thoughts on the dish, admitting that he had only tried the Coronation chicken for the first time on Saturday.

When asked if he was a great cook, Goodman said, “My wife made the Coronation chicken yesterday for our tea and had never taken it before.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman admitted that he had never tried curry or powdered curry.

“No, I’ve never had curry and curry powder and all that before. No.

“My dwarf used to call it all foreign witchcraft, so I’ve always been worried.”

After that, Goodman quickly admitted that he liked Coronation chicken.

He said, “But I have to admit it was delicious. It was so tasty.”

The comments sparked outrage online, with political commentator Adam Schwarz saying: “A bit of old xenophobia from Len Goodman’s British Empire on the cover of the BBC Jubilee:” Curry and the power of curry … my dwarf used to say it all foreign spell “.

“Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either, Looks like BT aint for me either. there is no way to do that. ”

Another Twitter user tweeted: “Petition for the BBC and Len Goodman to apologize for their choice of words that call Coronation Chicken ‘foreign mucus’, apparently in the words of their dwarf. Creepy and no excuses for age.

“We forgive the big generations too much for things like this.”

User Claudia Boleyn said: “No Len Goodman lovingly quoting how his dwarf referred to curry as ‘foreign mud’ and that’s why he’s nervous now. This is on the cover of the BBC’s jubilee.”

One user suggested that Goodman should review his story.

He said: “Someone should tell Len Goodman that Coronation Chicken is a British recipe, created for coronation by two English chefs. It is based on a dish created for George V in 1935 called Jubilee Chicken. Curry has been an accepted part of our national diet for over 200 years.

“It makes you wonder if Len Goodman has ever eaten pasta or something bought in a pastry shop. And no, not only does he tell us what his dwarf said, but he tells us why he’s never tried anything. he said, “Wait, ‘stranger’ doesn’t mean ‘muck’ …”

Some point out that Goodman himself was on a BBC program with Ainsley Harriet seven years ago on a tour of the UK to try to “educate his palate”.

And another added: “Len Goodman demonstrating another casual racism of ‘British tradition’ and everyone laughed! The arrogance and perceived superiority over other nations is truly unpleasant! I should apologize!”

After Goodman’s comments, fellow guest Torode said “it was interesting, no,” adding that her own grandmother would never have used curry powder and would not have known what pasta was.

Host Young replied, “The days have changed. The days have changed.”
