Another Russian general dies in the Ukrainian war

Another Russian general has been assassinated in Ukraine in the latest setback by President Putin’s invading forces.

Major General Roman Kutuzov was killed during fighting in the eastern Donbas region. “The general directed his soldiers to an attack,” Alexander Sladkov, a Russian state media war correspondent, wrote on social media. He said Kutuzov, 40, was commanding troops in the separatist-controlled Donetsk People’s Republic.

Tsargrad, a pro-Kremlin nationalist website, said the general, whose name was Tuman, which translates as fog, was killed near Severodonetsk. The city has become the center of Moscow’s military campaign after its withdrawal from Kyiv in April.

Unconfirmed reports said a second Russian officer, Lt. Gen. Roman Berdnikov, commander of the 29th Army, was also killed.
