Anthony Albanese will move to the Canberra Lodge while former Prime Minister Scott Morrison returns to the county

The Prime Minister will live in the Lodge in the country’s capital, while his predecessor Scott Morrison will move from Kirribilli House to the County.

Anthony Albanese has confirmed that he will be moving to Canberra Lodge instead of Kirribilli House, the heritage mansion of Sydney Harbor.

The prime minister said he planned to run the country from the country’s capital, revealing that he had already moved his belongings to the 40-bedroom property in the suburb of Deakin.

It is understood he will split his time between Sydney to see his 21-year-old son Nathan.

It is unclear, however, whether Albanian couple Jodie Haydon will reside at the lodge, and the prime minister described the arrangements as “private.”

“I’m already in The Lodge. I’ve moved most of my belongings from my Canberra flat there to The Lodge and some things from Sydney,” he told The Canberra Times.

“It’s the national capital. And that’s important. Family considerations are why I’ll spend time in Sydney, too.”

The prime minister had met with government officials at his home in Marrickville, while waiting for his predecessor Scott Morrison to leave.

The former prime minister had been nicknamed “Squat Morrison” on social media after it took a considerable amount of time to evict the two prime minister’s residences after his loss in the federal election.

It took Mr Morrison five days to leave the hostel while it took him almost two weeks to evacuate the Kirribilli house.

On Friday, two bright orange Allied trucks were seen transporting the belongings of the family of four to their home in Port Hacking, south of the port city.

Retirees could be seen packing wicker garden furniture, a ping pong table and several boxes, including one with bound books for Mr. Morrison’s election office.

Although he did not leave Kirribilli House immediately, Mr. Morrison immediately left Canberra Lodge to allow Mr. Albanese moved in.

An outgoing prime minister has two weeks to leave official residences, but only Morrison and John Howard have taken more than a week to pack up and leave.
