Lisa Wilkinson was scheduled to return to The Project counter on Sunday night, but was absent. It has now been reported that he could be out for much longer.
Lisa Wilkinson’s absence from The Project’s counter is likely to last at least another month after the aftermath of her speech at the Logies.
The high-profile host did not appear as the host in The project since mid-June. He was expected to return on Sunday night, however The AustralianThe Media Journal column has reported that the presenter has traveled quietly to the United States and will likely not appear as a co-host of the show until late August.
He is believed to have landed in Los Angeles this weekend.
The Australian he has reportedly conducted interviews with musicians and movie stars from Hollywood and New York and will file stories for the current affairs program before taking further permission, according to reports that he has booked before his Logies speech.
In his absence, Study 10s Sarah Harris, Flash presenter Georgia Tunny and Sydney radio presenter Rachel Corbett are expected to return to keep the seat warm.
Wilkinson has not been entirely absent from television screens since the fury of the speech.
In early July, he appeared on rival network Nine as part of a program celebrating the Today 40 years of the show on air. This appearance was despite his departure Today per The project.
“A big part of my heart with which I always stayed with the Today show family and all the years we spent together at breakfast,” the 62-year-old media personality said.
