The Apple Inc. app is giving its smartwatch a bigger facelift, with the largest screen to date and a larger battery and a “sturdy metal housing,” Bloomberg reported Wednesday afternoon, citing sources. The new watch will be designed for lovers of extreme sports and will feature a screen almost 2 inches in diameter. Apple will also launch a new standard Apple Watch Series 8 that will keep current 1.9-inch screens. The larger screen would allow a user to display simultaneous fitness metrics and the strong metal used for the casing will be more durable, along with a break-resistant screen. An Apple spokesman refuses to offer Bloomberg a comment on plans for the new rugged smartwatch.
