Apple will launch a 13.3-inch OLED MacBook in 2024

According to a new report by industry analyst Ross Young Show supply chain consultants, Apple is looking to launch MacBook and iPad models equipped with updated OLED displays. These new screens will hit the market sometime in 2024.

It seems increasingly likely that Apple will launch a 13.3 “OLED laptop in 2024 in addition to the 11” OLED and 12.9 “iPad Pro. It is expected to be a MacBook Air, but it could potentially become a MacBook, MacBook Pro, or a new category.

The analyst suggests that Apple will introduce a new category of MacBook, upgrade the MacBook Air or the MacBook Pro. Given that the MacBook Air has recently been updated during the year, a new MacBook Pro or a new MacBook category seems more likely scenarios. However, this information is likely to change by 2024.

Meanwhile, both 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models with OLED displays can use a display technology called “tandem battery” that should improve the strength of the panel while reducing power consumption in 30%. In addition, Apple’s OLED panels are expected to have variable refresh rates to increase efficiency. Apple’s 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros are the only laptops Apple offers with OLED displays that Apple calls “Liquid Retina XDR.”

A recent report suggested that Apple is working on a 15-inch MacBook Air. According to this report, there are also plans for a MacBook smaller than 12 inches. Apple’s M2 Pro and M2 Max chips are expected to go into mass production later this year by TSMC, and the updated 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros may arrive as early as next year.
