Apple revealed a lot of exciting news at WWDC 2022, giving us an overview of the highly anticipated macOS Ventura, iOS 16, the M2 chip, a new MacBook Air and more.

Apple has announced iOS 16 and the update offers a completely revamped and customizable lock screen interface. This allows you to add custom wallpapers, change the font and color of the date and time, and add new weather widgets, activity rings, calendar events, and more. Apple is also pushing updates for notifications and its Focus feature.
iOS 16 offers Live Activities that lets you set and manage notifications, such as live sports results, on the lock screen. Apple is also introducing hidden notifications that appear at the bottom of the lock screen.
With iOS 16, you’ll be able to edit the messages you send in the Messages app, as well as undo messages you’ve sent in error. Apple is also introducing the ability to mark a message as unread so you can easily find it later.
Apple is entering the “buy now, pay later” trend that allows you to make a purchase and pay for it in a number of terms. The new Pay Later feature arrives on Apple Pay with iOS 16.
Apple’s new security check feature is designed to protect people in abusive relationships. It allows abuse survivors to see and manage who has access to their apps, passwords, and more.
Apple announced a major CarPlay update that allows for deeper integration with your vehicle. You can replace your car’s dashboard with Apple’s display, showing speed, trip information, fuel and battery levels, and more.
Apple has added a number of new health tracking features, such as new career metrics, atrial fibrillation tracking, and medication reminders. In addition to all these new features, watchOS 9 also adds four new clock dials.
Apple is offering its Fitness app to all iPhone users. Previously, it was only available to those who had an Apple Watch.
Apple has revised its Home app, enabling greater efficiency as you manage your smart home devices. The update introduces new categories specifically for climate, lights and security and also allows you to see four security cameras at once.
After months of rumors, Apple’s next generation of silicon is finally here. Apple says the new M2 chip offers an 18 percent performance upgrade compared to the M1.

The new MacBook Air replaces the M1 chip with an upgraded M2. But that’s not all: it’s less than half an inch thick and is available in four colors: silver, space gray, starlight, and midnight. It also includes a larger 13.6-inch screen, a thinner bezel, and a small charger with two USB-C ports, priced starting at $ 1,199 for an M2-equipped model.
Apple’s new 13-inch MacBook Pro also includes an M2
Like the new MacBook Air, the 13-inch MacBook Pro will also receive an M2 update. It comes with up to 24GB of RAM, up to 2TB of storage, as well as up to 20 hours of battery life, and still has a touch bar. The new 13-inch Pro will be available next month and can be booked now, starting at $ 1,299.
With the recently announced macOS 13 Ventura, you can expect an enhanced multitasking tool called Stage Manager. There are also new updates to the Spotlight and Apple Mail app.
macOS 13 Ventura also adds support for something called Apple Passkeys in Safari. This new feature essentially replaces your password, allowing you to sign in to multiple websites with just your iPhone or Mac.
You no longer have to rely on your Mac’s webcam. Apple has announced that macOS is offering you the chance to use your iPhone as a webcam by connecting it with a specialized clip that will arrive later this year.
iPadOS 16 includes a new collaboration feature that allows you to work with other people within office applications, such as Pages, and also gets a new handy whiteboard tool called Freeform. Apple also announced enhanced multitasking features with Stage Manager, which allow you to resize and overlay windows on your iPad. Oh, and the iPad finally gets the Weather app with iPadOS 16.
