Recent leaks of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro have revealed two very different iPhones, with Apple determined to widen the gap between Pro and non-Pro models. The news has divided opinions and now the different information about its release has done the same.
In recent weeks, conflicting reports have stated that there will be / will not be a delay in the launch of some iPhone 14 models. And now one of the most respected experts in the industry has twisted the image again.

6/6 Update: Ahead of Apple’s World Developers Conference (WWDC), Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has used his Power On newsletter to confirm that next-generation releases for all of the company’s major platforms will be announced :
“What will no doubt be at the conference are significant updates to the company’s core operating systems: iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS and macOS. This year’s event is likely to introduce a wider range of new features. the usual, ”he explains. .

However, the focus of Apple’s iPhone plans is iOS 16, and Gurman claims that a key element of the launch will always be an active screen. The interesting thing about this, though, is that Gurman claims it will be exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models “if the feature ends up making the cut.”
Always-on screens have been a staple even of mid-range Android phones for years, so seeing Apple limit this to its latest flagship models would be another example of how the company is determined to widen the gap between Pro and non-Pro models. It remains to be seen whether this strategy will succeed or provoke a reaction from the fans.
In a series of tweets, TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo disputed a recent ET News report that supply problems have forced Apple to prematurely install a front-facing camera module for the iPhone 15 a year earlier at great cost.
“This report is not entirely consistent with my understanding,” Kuo explains. “1. If LG Innotek became the supplier of front-facing cameras for the iPhone 14 in 2T22, it would be almost impossible to keep up with the development schedule of the iPhone 14 2H22. 2. I think Apple had already chosen LG Innotek and Cowell as the front camera of the iPhone 14. suppliers in 4Q21 at the latest “.
This is in line with Kuo’s previous claims that global production of the iPhone 14 is “currently under control.” That said, both Nikkei Asia and Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu believe that supplies of the iPhone 14 Max will be delayed by almost a month.

Similarly, Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) and one of the most accurate experts in the industry, has responded that “shipments of iPhone 14 Max panels have always lagged behind.” As a result, Apple may be heading for its second split iPhone release in the last five years (iPhone 12 / iPhone 12 Mini), which in turn was only the second in the history of the iPhone (iPhone 8 / iPhone X).
It’s a surprise to see that privileged people are divided like this, because historically the leaks around iPhone releases are quite consistent. This is usually due to the global way in which iPhones are mass-produced, even Apple’s secret experience can’t slow down the flow of leaks as production goes on.
Split release or not, the most divisive aspect of the iPhone 14 release is likely to be the phones themselves. While standard iPhone 14 models will inherit the same design, chipset and rear cameras as the iPhone 13 line, iPhone 14 Pro models will advance with upgrades to all three departments and price increases to match.
It remains to be seen how iPhone fans respond to Apple’s aggressive attempt to sell buyers to these more expensive models.
