Arizona ‘Pipeline Fire’ forces evacuation, suspect arrested

A forest fire broke out near Flagstaff, Arizona on Sunday morning, which rose to more than 4,000 acres and led to evacuations.

The “pipeline fire” was reported after 10 a.m., about six miles north of Flagstaff. Firefighters were working to contain the fire.

The photos showed smoke plumes rising into the sky visible from Flagstaff. Officials said the wind was sweeping smoke through the Schultz Pass to Doney Park.

The Arizona Red Cross said it was opening a shelter at Sinagua High School at 3950 E Butler Ave in Flagstaff for evacuees.

Meanwhile, a suspect is being held in connection with the fire, although the charges are still unclear, FOX 10 of Phoenix reported.
