Real Madrid have agreed to sign Aurélien Tchouameni from Monaco for 80 million euros (68.6 million pounds) plus bonuses.
This is according to RMC, which reports that the 22-year-old has chosen to join the Whites against Liverpool this summer. Tchouameni has been closely linked to a move to Anfield, but is understood to have agreed to sign for the Spanish giants on a five-year deal.
Tchouameni has played 95 games for Monaco since joining from Bordeaux in 2019, scoring eight goals. His form for the Ligue 1 team has also earned him several matches in France.
Now he seems ready to sign for Real Madrid despite the interest of the Reds and Monaco sporting director Paul Mitchell spoke about the future of Tchouameni. When asked if he would prefer to sell to Liverpool, Mitchell said: “I have no preference to be honest! As always when you sell a player, there needs to be fair compensation. The market is different every year.
“Everyone has been able to see who a great player Aurelien is, but everyone also knows that we are an ambitious club with an ambitious shareholder. So no, I have no preference when it comes to selling him. We have to be very aggressive in terms of the rate we charge for losing such an incredibly gifted player. “
Asked how difficult it would be for Monaco to replace Tchouameni, Mitchell said: “That’s why it’s so sought after! The market is usually quite smart, especially at the clubs you mentioned. That’s why it’s going to be incredibly difficult to replace it. but we will try to increase it.the total capacity of the team I think it is important to keep building the team and not just focus on the people who make it up.

“We have a very competitive style of play and for us it would be a mark of success to build the depth of the team and the quality of the whole group because we will also leave the pre-season with matches that will continue until mid-September. I think that replacing Aurelien Tchouameni at that time would be a difficult task, but it would be for anyone. “
He recorded 2.2 innings with 2.7 interceptions per game for the club and the country last season, often partnering with Manchester United’s Paul Pogba for France. Tchouameni, also an expert in orderly haggling and line-up with punctual passes, is now a regular on Didier Deschamps’ team, which helped the Blues win the UEFA Nations League last fall with a starting spot in the final.
