Australian Prime Minister says cabinet will address KFC’s “cabbage door”

Syed Hyder from a Queen Victoria Market stall in Melbourne adjusts a sample of iceberg lettuce on June 7, 2022, with the local price rising by up to 300 per cent in recent months.

The Prime Minister of Australia joked that he would meet with senior officials on Thursday to discuss the rising cost of lettuce and the decision by local KFCs to replace the green leaf with a mixture of cabbage in their Zinger burgers.

As a result, KFC told Australian customers that it would reduce the lettuce in its products in favor of a 50-50 cabbage-cabbage blend.
