The 2022 winner of Big Brother Australia was announced in a live final on Tuesday night, with the lucky winner returning home with $ 250,000 richer.
Big Brother Third-season winner Reggie Sorensen, 48, faced new players Johnson Ashak, 25, and Taras Hrubyj-Piper, 34.
And in the end, the beloved returning player Reggie won, making history on Australian television: she is the first person to be Australian. Big Brother having won the show twice.
“Thank you to everyone who voted for me … I hope I made you feel proud,” an emotional Reggie said after her victory was revealed.
The first three had offered their final releases to viewers just before the polls closed.

It was a decision for which he agonized, not knowing whether to bring Reggie, a proven audience favorite, to the end.
“I don’t want to do that, I want to give myself the best chance to win,” he said.

But since his victory, Sorensen’s life has been fraught with difficulties: he lost some of his earnings due to a scammer and has suffered health problems, including a degenerative eye condition which means he currently has only 9% of his central vision. During the finale, he revealed that it had been difficult for him to navigate Big Brother’s house, leaving in memory the layout of the rooms as he learned to make his way through space.
This season of Big Brother has had trouble rating Seven, with episodes regularly attracting less than 350,000 viewers to the five metropolitan capitals. This season’s premiere episode alone drew more than 400,000 viewers; instead, the 2021 season of Big Brother it attracted more than 600,000 viewers per episode for most of the season.
