Leslie Grace, the star of Batgirl, the $100 million DC film that was cut by Warner Bros., has spoken out for the first time about the unexpected twist of fate.

Sharing behind-the-scenes images from the film, Grace said she was “proud” of the film in her first social media post since the news broke. Page Six reports
“Dear family! After the latest news about our film BatgirlI’m proud of the love, hard work and intent that our entire incredible cast and tireless crew put into this film over seven months in Scotland,” he wrote in his Instagram post.
“I feel blessed to have worked among absolute greats and forged lifelong relationships in the process!”
The actress added, “To all Batgirl fan: THANK YOU for the love and belief, allowing me to pick up the cape and become, as Babs said best, “my own hero!”
Grace’s release came just hours after directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah released their own statement about the film’s unexpected scrapping.
The couple, who also directed Bad boys for life – said they were “saddened and shocked” by the fate of the film, which also starred Michael Keaton, JK Simmons and Brendan Fraser.
“We still can’t believe it. As directors, it is essential that our work is shown to the public, and although the film was far from finished, we would like fans around the world to have had the opportunity to see and embrace the film. final film themselves,” they wrote.
“Our amazing cast and crew did an extraordinary job and worked so hard to bring it Batgirl in life. We are eternally grateful to have been a part of this team,” they said.
The filmmakers thanked their cast, “especially the great Leslie Grace, who portrayed Batgirl with so much passion, dedication and humanity”.

The film has become a mess for the studio, with fans online calling for the film to be released, and the debacle made more glaring by the fact that the film is directed by a Latina actress surrounded by a diverse cast and filmmakers.
