Benefit payment dates for the June holiday

Benefit payments should continue no later than their normal date despite this week’s holiday, the Communities Department said.

This week’s Thursdays and Fridays are designated as public holidays due to the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations.

The Department says benefits due on those days will be paid before that date and no later.

It covers payments that include:

  • Child benefit
  • Tax credit (both child tax credit and work tax credit)
  • Universal Credit
  • Attendance bonus
  • Caregiver help
  • State pension
  • Pension credit
  • Subsistence of life due to disability
  • Employment assistance and support
  • Job search help
  • Payments for personal independence

The department has said that although some payments are made on different dates, the rule of reaching the due date at the latest will still apply.
