Benfica issue a response following Manchester United’s “offer” from Darwin Nunez and other transfer rumors

Benfica have reportedly rejected Manchester United’s bid for striker Darwin Nunez.

According to Correio da Manha, United have submitted an offer to the Portuguese side worth around £ 89 million, of which £ 64 million will be paid in advance. The agreement would also mean the transfer of Andreas Pereira to Benfica.

The report adds that Benfica have rejected the deal, expecting an additional £ 8.5 million. His 34 goals in the last campaign have made Núñez one of the main goals of some of the most important clubs in Europe.

On the other hand, Calciomercato (via Inside Football) has stated that United want to “speed up” talks with Juventus while trying to close a deal for Adrien Rabiot.

It is also believed that Chelsea are interested in the Juve midfielder, who has one year left on his contract. The Series A set is reportedly set to sell Rabiot this summer.

Erik ten Hag reports that he has offered to start talks with the Rabiot camp in the coming days to ensure that a deal is completed quickly. The Italian media adds that United are exploring their options in case they can’t sign Frenkie de Jong.
