Someone call Marie Kondo, because season 24 of Big Brother has gotten messy.
To be clear, I say this with the utmost appreciation for the disaster: Big Brother has been stuck in a predictable, let’s-vote-with-the-house routine for many seasons, and it’s a delight to see the opposite happening here. But between Kyle’s ill-advised showmance with Alyssa, Nicole’s correct suspicion that most of The Leftovers are working together, and of course Daniel’s insane decision to use the power of veto and put his #1 ally in danger , this week in the BB house. it’s been undeniably (and wonderfully) chaotic.
We break down how the week concluded, with Nicole unknowingly poised to be taken back ahead of Thursday’s episode:
THE STRATEGY | The veto meeting ends with Nicole and Taylor now at the table, and Taylor’s tears of frustration are legitimate: she’s angry that the veto was used to save Alyssa and Indy when she thought the nominations were standing, and it seems that his confidence in The Leftovers. taking a hit since he had no warning about the switcheroo. Nicole, meanwhile, is “elated” to be on the blog, so, there’s that.

But not long before the veto meeting took place, Kyle had gone upstairs to warn Monte that Daniel “100 percent” planned to use the veto. The night before, Nicole had visited the HOH room and found six of the seven remnants, meaning everyone except Kyle, hanging out there, leading her to believe that these six are in an alliance. Since Monte and Taylor can’t vote this week, Nicole and Daniel are under the impression that Taylor will only have four votes to stay, when she actually has five (Kyle is fifth), and Monte would break a potential tie. in Taylor’s favor anyway. So while it’s not ideal for Taylor to see the blog for the umpteenth time, The Leftovers know privately that Daniel “played himself,” as Joseph puts it, by using the veto this time.
Other highlights from the pre-taped segments: After making out with Terrance last week, Nicole reveals to Indy, Alyssa, and Jasmine that she used to be a cop, which she seems to think is game-changing information; Kyle and Alyssa have one of Big Brother’s creepiest showmances (bathroom flirting! Make it stop!); and after getting word from some of The Leftovers that Nicole might not have the votes to stay, Indy, Alyssa, and Jasmine weigh their options, hoping to keep Nicole, but far more desperate to just be on the right side of the house vote this week. Just floating, these three!
THE EVICTION | When it’s time for the eviction, Taylor gets a little sassy in her pre-vote speech, telling Nicole: “To quote Big Brother superfan Rihanna, you look really silly right now.” (!) He reminds Nicole how smart she thought it was to choose Taylor as her Bestie Festie, not knowing that her own ride or death, Daniel, would be responsible for her downfall. (Nicole seems to be taking this all in stride, but after Taylor sits back down, the women exchange a smile that screams, “I can’t stand you!”)
In the end, only Daniel has Nicole’s back: she’s evicted by a 9-1 vote, but hugs everyone on the way out and tells Julie she’s “not at all” surprised to learn about The Leftovers, since I would have done it. already correctly identified six of its seven members. He also calls Taylor’s pre-vote speech “amazing and comical” and “nothing but the truth,” noting that Nicole thought she could manipulate others, including Taylor, to stay in the game.
And since it looks like we’re destined to never have a live Head of Household competition again, the episode ends with Taylor choosing Alyssa and Indy as her new Festie Besties. Daniel, meanwhile, heads to one of the rooms alone, commenting that he should pack right now. Moments earlier, he’d told Nicole in his goodbye message that he wasn’t leaving the Big Brother house without a fight…but it seems he’s feeling a little differently now.
