Police were called to the West Beach boat ramp at 6am today after a member of the public reported two cars in the water.
Police taped off the entrance to the West Beach boat ramp as officers and forensic experts investigated the incident.
Meanwhile, volunteers from the State Emergency Service (SES) combed the nearby sand dunes.
Police believe the cars went into the water overnight.
West Beach is a seaside suburb of Adelaide, 20 minutes from the city.
