Many of the names are going through initial research. Not everyone on the list will receive honors, and the final list likely won’t be announced until several weeks after Johnson leaves office in September.
Other names put forward for the honors are said to include Ben Elliot, the party’s co-chairman and one of its most successful fundraisers. Elliot, the nephew of the Duchess of Cornwall, is a supreme networker, who was appointed chairman by Mr. Johnson when he became leader three years ago.
He created Quintessentially, which offers its customers all the elements of a luxury lifestyle, as well as concierge services. Mr Elliot, 46, is likely to be offered a knighthood instead of a peerage because he is said to have hopes of becoming an MP.
Malik Karim, treasurer of the Tory Party, as well as founder and chief executive of council firm Fenchurch Advisory, will also be rewarded in the resignation honors list.
Dominic Johnson, chief executive of Somerset Capital Management, which he co-founded with Jacob Rees-Mogg, the Brexit minister, is also being called up for an honour. Johnson is also a non-executive director of the Department of International Trade.
Other names put forward for an honor include financier Jamie Reuben, 34, co-owner of Newcastle United since last October, who is said to have given heavily to the Tories since Johnson became leader.
