Brad Pitt and his ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow are still very much in love 25 years after they separated in 1997 after their three-year courtship.
In a new interview for Goop, the couple recalls their failed engagement, their continued love for each other, and how Gwyneth’s late father, Bruce, shaped Brad’s view of fatherhood.
Helping 58-year-old Brad promote his new cashmere line, God’s True Cashmere, which his welfare company promotes as the perfect Father’s Day gift, the conversation moved to his father Bruce Paltrow, who died in 2002.
Gwyneth, 49, shared: “Okay, since it’s almost Father’s Day, I’ll ask you about Bruce. I’ll never forget when we were engaged, and one day he came to me with tears in his eyes, and he said to me, “You know, I’ve never noticed what they mean when they say you’re having a baby. Like, I’m raising a son. ”

He then asked Brad, “What impact did it have on you? Why did you love him, even though we didn’t get married, unfortunately.
Brad, who married Jennifer Aniston and later Angelina Jolie, replied, “Yes, hey. [Laughs.] Oh man, everything goes well, right?
Gwyneth then referred to her now-husband, Brad Falchuk, and added, “Yes, she does.” I finally found Brad to marry. It only took me 20 years.
“And it’s lovely to have you as a friend now,” Brad said, adding, “And I love you.”
Gwyneth replied, “I love you very much.”

Brad revealed how Bruce, a film director and producer, had a significant influence on him as a father figure, saying, “One of the many things I loved about Bruce was that it had a profound effect on me and is Does anyone still think about it – did it encourage your voice, your independence?
“It cut out the way for you to be the way you are. And I think that’s very important for parents, you know? So the child is free to find out who he is, what he loves and what he loves.”
Recalling his relationship with Gwyneth and his father, Brad also revealed: “We were always going to get his opinion, but there was a justice that I really appreciated. I think that touched me very well.
When Gwyneth asked him if Brad felt “his parents’ energy,” he replied, “One hundred percent.” I felt the same kind of guidance you would get from a coach or a mentor. ”
Gwyneth added: Me too. I mean, he was my dad, but he was a great mentor. He loved being that role for the people he really loved, and you were definitely one of them.

Elsewhere in the interview, the couple praised each other while Gwyneth praised Brad’s cashmere line while being just as effusive about Goop.
Brad revealed how Gwyneth’s father first introduced him to cashmere, inspiring him to start his own line with business partner Sat Hari Khalsa.

Gwyneth continued, “I’m a complete customer and a big fan. I gave one to my mom for Mother’s Day and she really liked it. She said,” Oh, Gwynnie, that’s like a warm hug, no I’ll never get it. “
The couple started dating in 1994, got engaged a year later, but then separated the following year in 1997.
Gwyneth continued with Ben Affleck with whom she dated until 2000, then married Chris Martin in 2003 before “consciously disengaging” in 2014. She is now married to Brad Falchuk.

While Brad is currently promoting his latest cashmere sweater manufacturing company, one of his other companies has been causing him headaches.
Brad claimed this month that his ex-wife Angelina Jolie had sold her stake in her French vineyard to “a Russian oligarch” with “poisonous intentions.”
He said the sale was a “massive international responsibility” given the invasion of Ukraine by Russian President Vladimir Putin, and said Angelina’s motivation for the sale was to “inflict damage on Pitt”.
However, Angelina has vehemently denied the allegations.
But there seems to be no bad blood between Brad and his other exes like Jennifer Aniston, whom he met for his 50th birthday in 2019.
Although in 2006, Jennifer said that “there is a lack of sensitivity chip” with Brad, after he had moved in with Angelina.
However, it is now understood that the couple are friends and support each other.
And Gwyneth revealed for the first time that she is still on friendly terms with Brad in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in 2020. “I’m friends with Brad Pitt. I don’t have any bad blood,” he said.
