The A57 Snake Pass was closed in both directions this afternoon due to reports of a serious collision.
Emergency services were called to the ring road, which runs between Glossop and Sheffield around 1pm this afternoon (June 3) following reports of an accident.
The road has been closed in both directions between Hurst Road, near the Royal Oak Inn, and the A6013 at Ladybower Reservoir. No further details have been given at this time about the nature of the accident or whether anyone has been injured.

INRIX said: “A57 Snake Pass closed in both directions, slow traffic due to a serious collision between Hurst Road (Royal Oak Inn) and A6013 (Ladybower Reservoir).”
In a Twitter post, Derbyshire Police said: “The A57 Snake Pass is currently closed between Glossop and The Snake Inn at Bamford due to a serious collision. Please avoid the area and find an alternative route “.
