Bret Michaels de Poison reports health and apologizes after hospitalization

Poison rocker Bret Michaels apologized to his fans after canceling a performance in Nashville due to an “unforeseen medical complication.”

Hours after the news of his hospitalization on Friday, the 59-year-old singer took to Instagram to thank his followers for their “good wishes.”

Michaels wrote: “I was really excited to get on stage in the city of music and perform, but due to an unknown complication and after hospitalization, it was not possible.

“I send my deepest apologies for not being able to go on stage tonight !!!” it continued. “I’m working to get back to 100% very soon and I hope you’ve had a great time with my Motley friends [Crüe]/[Def] Leppard / Joan [Jett & The Blackhearts] and Act without class !!! “

Michaels did not say whether he or his band will perform at their concerts scheduled for Saturday in Florida and Sunday in Mississippi.

Companions of the singer’s Poison group from “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” explained to concert attendees their hospitalization Friday before their show.

“He came from KC to see the poison,” one fan tweeted. “Bret Michaels was admitted to the hospital. There is no poison in Nashville.

Another added, “Bret you and Poison owe Nashville a free concert!”

The father of one of the attendees wrote on Twitter: “My son is in Nashville to finally see the great 80’s rock band with Motley Crue, Poison, Joan Jett and Def Leppard. He’s waited so long. They’ve had a storm dump on them, the lightning delay and the poison have just been canceled.They say Bret Michaels is hospitalized.

Although TMZ reported that the musician had a “bad reaction to the medication,” his representatives have yet to respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Michaels, who has type 1 diabetes, has suffered health scares in the past, from his emergency appendectomy in 2010 to his hospitalization in 2014 for kidney surgery.
