Hannah Dodd is very excited to be joining the cast of Netflix’s hit TV show Bridgerton.
The actress joins the cast of the third season as Francesca, replacing Ruby Stokes in the role. After playing Francesca, Lady Violet’s sixth eldest child, in seasons one and two of Bridgerton, Stokes left the show to star in the Netflix production Lockwood & Co.
Now Stokes’ replacement Dodd is excited to be the new Francesca. He talked about joining the show in a new interview with TV Line.
“I’m really excited. Everyone has been so lovely. I just want to do a good job,” Dodd said.
Dodd says he has read six of the eight Bridgerton books written by Julia Quinn, on which the TV show is based. Dodd focused on Francesca’s story as she “didn’t know what [she’d] obtained [herself] for”.

“I needed to read it as soon as possible. It’s such a beautiful book and she’s such a beautiful character. I really can’t believe I get to play her,” says Dodd.
“I also know how people feel about her, so I’ll do my best.”
Dodd previously starred in Anatomy of a Scandal, while she is currently starring in Flowers in the Attic: The Origin on Lifetime. In between these shows, Dodd made an appearance in Marvel’s Eternals in the small role of Sandra. Meanwhile, she has also joined the cast of Netflix’s upcoming Enola Holmes 2, starring Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown in the title role.

Season two of Bridgerton aired earlier this year after a world premiere in London, while principal photography on season three began in July. There is no set release date for season three yet, but a fourth season has already been ordered.
Seasons 1-2 of Bridgerton are streaming now on Netflix. Season 3 is confirmed.
