Brislington “murder” investigation: two more arrests made while seven detainees remain

Two more have been arrested after a man was killed after an altercation in Brislington, bringing the total number of people arrested to seven.

Detectives are continuing to investigate after officers rushed to the scene shortly before 10pm on Tuesday (May 24th) night after a report was reported in the Bloomfield Road area. Cords were lifted between Eagle Road and Sandy Park, but have since been down at 11 a.m. Thursday.

A 30-year-old man from London – who has not yet been formally identified – died on his way to hospital after being involved in the disorder. A forensic autopsy has been completed and the preliminary cause of death has been concluded due to multiple stabbings, Avon and Somerset police said in a statement.

Detective Inspector Ben Lavender said: “This is a tragic incident in which a man has died after a shocking act of violence and our thoughts remain with his family at this difficult time. The man who sadly lost life has not yet been formally identified, but we have updated their relatives and specially trained family liaison officers will now support them and keep them fully up to date. “

DI Lavender added: “What happened on Tuesday night and why it is still unclear, and although our investigation is still in its infancy, we have already made significant progress. Two arrests have been made today. more and the total number of arrests is seven “.

Police have yet to establish the reasons for the disorder, but none of those arrested have any known links to Bristol or the wider Avon and Somerset area. “We still believe this is an isolated incident involving people known to each other who have traveled to the city from another part of the country,” DI Lavender said.

“As part of our investigation, we have confiscated a total of six vehicles that we believe are related to the incident. These are being forensically examined. There are other inquiries, such as door-to-door and a CCTV review area, but we continue to appeal to anyone with a cell phone, a doorbell, a dashboard, or other private CCTV footage who can help us contact our query.

“Although the cordons were removed yesterday, we continue to maintain a police presence in the Brislington area to reassure residents. Anyone who is hesitant is advised to approach an agent or contact ‘your local neighborhood team’.
