It looks like Britney Spears will marry her fiancé in a surprise ceremony tonight, just seven months after the controversial guardianship that ruled her life and finances ended.
The singer was engaged to Sam Asghari, a 28-year-old fitness trainer, in September last year.
Spears, 40, joked that the proposal was “too late.”
The intimate ceremony in Los Angeles will be attended by about “60 guests from those in his close circle,” a source was quoted as saying by People, an American media outlet.
A month ago, Asghari confirmed that the couple had set a date for their wedding, although he did not say when it would be.
In an Instagram post, he said: “Our lives [have] it’s been a real-life fairy tale. Happy Mother’s Day to you, my soon-to-be queen. “
He then told his 2.4 million followers that “the big day is set!”
According to TMZ, Spears’ brother Bryan will attend the ceremony, but his sister, Jamie-Lynn, and his parents will not be present.
Spears moved away from some members of her family after she was placed under guardianship in 2008, with her father, Jamie Spears, overseeing her personal and financial affairs.
A Los Angeles court overturned him in November last year after Spears made a heartbreaking statement in court describing the complex legal agreement as abusive and convicting his father Jamie Spears and others who they had been in charge.

This will be the singer’s third marriage.
Spears has two children, Sean and Jayden, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, whom she divorced in 2007.
She married her childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander in Las Vegas in 2004, but they divorced the same year.
In May this year, the singer announced the loss of her “miracle baby in early pregnancy.”
She had revealed that she was pregnant a month earlier, saying a test had been done after Asghari teased her about being “pregnant with food”.
Posting on Instagram, he said the couple “maybe” should have waited to announce that they were waiting until they were “later.”
He added: “We will continue to try to expand our beautiful family. We appreciate all your support.”
