BTS has confirmed that they are taking a break.
K-pop superstars announced the news during their FESTA dinner, which is part of an annual celebration of its founding. When they welcomed their ninth year together this month, they told fans it was time to take a long break and pursue solo projects.
The RM band member said in the following video that while they have achieved as much as BTS, individual members have yet to grow and mature as individuals.
“I always thought that BTS was different from other bands, but the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature. You have to keep producing music and keep doing something, ”he said.
RM added that he now wants to take the time to think about the new direction of BTS, both as individuals and as a group.
The rest of BTS went on to say that deciding to take a break was a difficult decision, adding that they felt they were disappointing their fans.
“We can’t help but think about our fans, no matter what happens, we want to be the kind of artists our fans remember. I think now we’re starting to think about what kind of artists we want our fans to remember,” he said. Jimin.

In 2019, a BTS representative offered clarification on reports of an “extended” break for the group, explaining that it was a “short” break.
“This rest period will be an opportunity for BTS members, who have been steadily pushing towards their goal since their debut, regaining strength and preparing to re-introduce themselves as musicians and creators,” he says. the publication. “This will also give them the opportunity to enjoy the normal life of young people in their 20s, albeit briefly.”
The message went on to say that BTS members will “rest and recharge in their personal way” during the break, while urging fans to respect their privacy.
All seven BTS members have released music with solo projects: RM, Jungkook, Jin, Jimin, Suga, J-Hope and V.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, BTS released the music video for ‘Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)’, which is the lead song on their new compilation album ‘Proof’.
The view opens with Jungkook sitting alone in a desert, looking out over the great open land. He then moves on to the septet sitting together as they perform “Yet To Come,” which finds the band of boys looking back on their nine-year career so far.
‘Proof’ is a 48-song compilation that includes many of the boy band’s hit singles, from ‘Boy With Luv’ with Halsey to their debut single ‘No More Dream’.
