Calgary police arrested a man Thursday in connection with the death of a woman found dead inside a Castleridge home.
Officers were called to a home on the 0-100 block of Castleridge Drive NE around 7 a.m. to report a person in medical condition.
Emergency crews found a 20-year-old woman dead inside the house.
On Saturday, police revealed that the victim was 25-year-old Autumn Levi Cross Child, and confirmed that her death was considered homicide.
“Officers who went to the scene located the complainant who was eventually arrested for questioning,” a statement said. “At the time, investigators determined that the complainant was a suspect in Cross Child’s death.”
Brandon Noland Yellowfly, 24, is charged with first-degree murder.
He is scheduled to appear in court on June 22, 2022.
Police say Cross Child’s death marks Calgary’s 15th homicide this year.
