Camberley stabbing: Neighbors react after teenager’s death: “A lifetime has passed”

Neighbors living near the site of the fatal stabbing of a teenager in Camberley have said they had never seen an incident like this before. Two teenagers were arrested in connection with the alleged stabbing of Kyle Wright, 17, of Aldershot, on Friday night (May 27), who died from his injuries at the scene.

The incident, which occurred at the intersection of Green Hill Road and Copped Hall Drive around 10:50 p.m., left the surrounding community stunned. A large police presence was still at the scene on Monday afternoon (May 30) with police vehicles and tents as officers blocked the road leading to the scene.

A resident on the quiet residential street of Green Hill Close in Camberley, Nozar Rastani, said he had not seen anything like it since he moved to the area in 2007. Police say residents have been warned to stay. of the facts until the end of this week.

He said: “I noticed the incident when there was a helicopter flying over the house. I went out to see what was going on and I saw the police cars parked next to it. There was no noise before. Nothing is happening in this area, so this is the first one.

He added: “It’s unfortunate, no matter where this kind of thing is, especially in your home. It’s a shame, it’s just been a lifetime.”

A 17-year-old teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with murder as well as possession of a leafed article and possession of an offensive weapon. He appeared in Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (May 31st). Meanwhile, another Green Hill Close resident, Grainne Rapley, said she was also alerted to the incident when she saw a police presence outside her home.

He added: “It was very shocking, I really couldn’t believe it. I talked to a couple of neighbors we know on the farm and nobody thought anything like this could happen here.”

Community-wide figures have rushed to try to help everyone affected by the situation, including St Paul’s Church on Crawley Ridge. They opened the church on both Monday (May 30) and Wednesday (June 1) to support those affected.

“At St Paul’s we are devastated to hear this news which is a great shock to our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends and others involved. We want to do everything we can to support those affected. said Tom Darwent, vicar of the church.

On Monday, his mother paid tribute to Kyle Wright, who said his son was a talented basketball player and a gym enthusiast. Calvary had “shattered” his heart as he said his son “wouldn’t hurt a fly.”

He added: “Every second without him is pure torture. Our hearts have been shattered into a million pieces. My baby, we were lucky to have spent such a fantastic 17 years with you and we are struggling to continue without you.

“A father shouldn’t have to bury his son. No child deserves that. I myself, your father, your brother, your family, friends and the community are devastated.”
