GLACE BAY, NS – Cape Breton Regional Police issued an amber alert for a teenager who disappeared from Glace Bay Friday night.
The 15-year-old is described as white, 5 to 10 and 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He is believed to be traveling to Nova Scotia with his 42-year-old mother.
They are believed to have been traveling in a 2018 white Hyundai Elantra with a temporary permit. The mother is described as white, 5-7 and 160 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.
Shortly before 10 p.m., an update was issued, saying the car was found abandoned on Highway 104 near East Mountain. The search is still ongoing.
East Mountain is not far from Truro and just over an hour’s drive from Halifax. The mother’s Facebook page says she lives in Lower Sackville.
If the father and son are seen, police ask the public to call 911 or contact police.
