“Well, before I came here, I spoke to Fred,” Casemiro told us in his signature interview. “He is a friend with whom I have played in the national team for a good number of games and years.
“I know him well. He is a great player and that is why he plays for Manchester United and the Brazilian national team, which is difficult to break into. So I have a special relationship with him and of course he’s a great player and that’s why he plays for Manchester United.
“Fred has many qualities. I think he is a player with good movement. He is very mobile, passes the ball well, has a good overhead shot, can play with both feet, left or right, can pass the ball well with either foot. He is a great player.
“Again, that’s why he plays in Brazil and he’s a very important player in this club and I think he’ll help me a lot because he’s Brazilian. I think he will help me a lot at the club and it is certainly important for me to have another Brazilian here as well”.
