Pop star Shawn Mendes has issued a heartbreaking announcement to his fans about his mental health.
The 23-year-old hit creator of ‘Stitches’ shared a message on his Instagram, revealing that he will postpone his tour of the United States after reaching a “breaking point”.
“It breaks my heart to have to say this, but unfortunately I will have to postpone the next three weeks of shows in Uncasville, CT until further notice,” Mendes wrote in a post Friday.

“I’ve been touring since I was 15 and, to be honest, it’s always been hard to travel away from friends and family.”
Mendes said he believed he was ready to “sink again” to turn around the country, but realized he wasn’t fully prepared for the stress of being on the road.
He revealed that he would take some time off from his career to focus on his mental health.
“After a few years off the road, I felt like I was ready to dive back in, but that decision was premature and unfortunately the toll on the road and the pressure have taken hold of me and I’ve come to a breaking point “. it continued.
“After talking to my team and health professionals, I need to take a moment to heal and take care of myself and my mental health in the first place. As soon as there is more news I promise you that I’ll let you know. I love you guys. “

Mendes ’announcement was greeted with a wave of support and love from fans and friends alike.
“Take care, we love you, rest assured,” one follower wrote. “Take your time king! We’ll wait for you! ALWAYS!” said another.
The singer only started his tour last week in Portland, Oregon. His postponed dates include most of the first leg of his tour, which included several shows in Connecticut.
Mendes recently revealed that some of his new songs are inspired by his breakup with fellow singer Camila Cabello.

The couple separated in November 2021 after dating for two years.
