CFL and CFLPA reach a new interim collective agreement

The CFL and the CFL Players Association have reached a new interim collective agreement, according to sources.

The new deal includes a $ 1.25 million ratification bonus, more than the $ 1 million the league offered Monday night. It is subject to the vote of the players of the union members.

The ratio will remain unchanged in 2022, as was the case in last week’s interim deal, before allowing two veteran U.S. players to return with Canadian headlines for up to 49 percent of snaps in 2023.

The league also has the option to increase the number of U.S. veterans who can rotate with Canadian headlines from two to three in 2024.

The CFL and CFLPA reached an interim agreement last week that the players revoked on Monday. The two main reasons why it was defeated were the proposed changes to the ratio, as well as the lack of a ratification bonus.

This story will be updated as the details of the new agreement become apparent.
