Long queues are expected to form throughout the day at Sydney Airport and Melbourne Airport when travelers leave the state over the long weekend.
9News journalist Sarah Stewart previously said that check-in and check-out processes had changed at the airport to accommodate the first queues.
Passengers could usually check in and leave their luggage before heading straight to security.

Instead, the airport ordered passengers from the check-in desk to return outside and form a long queue to re-enter the airport and go through security.
Stewart said it caused confusion among travelers, but has since returned to normal.
“We’re just trying to find security, so I don’t know where we’re going, we have to get out and the line is so long,” a traveler told 9News.
“It’s chaotic. It’s crazy.”
“Now we have to go back outside, so we have to do the security check,” said another traveler.
“But it doesn’t happen automatically. You have to go back out and join the queue.”

Melbourne travelers saw the long lines and chaos unfolding yesterday and decided to arrive at the airport early today.
“We were here yesterday and our flight was canceled, so we arrived very early, watching the news yesterday thinking we had to arrive early,” one traveler said.
There are concerns that long queues will form at Melbourne Airport around noon.
