A man described by his family as an “excellent father” has been honored after his death three days ago. Marcus Dunkerton died at his home from a stabbing on Friday, June 24, and a man has been charged with murder.
Dunkerton, who lived in Charfield south of Gloucestershire, was a father and stepfather, as well as a much-loved son. The man accused of murdering him has appeared today in Bristol Magistrate’s Court.
In a statement released through police today, the couple, parents and other family members of the 40-year-old man said: “No word will ever be able to express the deep sadness and loss we feel as a family.

“Marcus was a beloved son, brother, partner, father, stepfather, uncle and son – in – law who all loved us very much.
“He was an excellent father. We have a broken heart. He will leave a big void in our lives and we will miss him a lot. We ask people to respect our privacy in what remains a very difficult time for ourselves. and to everyone we met Marcus. “
Dunkerton died at his home in Thames Close, Charfield. His family has the support of specially trained officers.
Grant Bradley, 46, of Blackwell Street, Kidderminster, appeared before the Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Monday 27 June on charges of murder and possession of an offensive weapon. He was arrested pending trial in Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday 29 June.
