Cabinet ministers have fired a warning against the Prince of Wales, who fear it will plunge the country into a constitutional crisis if it continues to intervene in government affairs when it becomes king.
Clarence House issued a statement yesterday insisting that Prince Charles would remain “politically neutral” as a monarch, despite reports he described as “horrific” the government’s policy of sending asylum seekers to Rwanda. His alleged comment came after a Supreme Court ruling in favor of the policy. The first such flight to the East African country is scheduled for Tuesday.
The Times reported that Charles had been heard expressing opposition to politics several times in private and that he was “more than disappointed.” Cabinet ministers are concerned about reports from courtiers
