Google unveiled a couple of new features for Chrome OS earlier this year and now, the company has finally released some of those features with the Chrome OS 103 update. The update is now being released and offers features long awaited such as filming the camera at the Phone Hub, support for Nearby Share and more. Chrome OS 103 brings photos of Android phones to Chromebooks. One of the most important features of the latest version of Chrome OS is the addition of the Android smartphone camera to the Phone Hub. The Chrome OS Phone Hub already has several key features related to Android smartphones. For example, users can check notifications, view recent Chrome tabs, change quick settings, and more. With the latest update, users can now also see the camera roll in the hub. While it only shows the top four rows in the Recent Photos section, including screenshots, users can only click on them to download them to their laptop without looking for a data cable or Wi-Fi hotspot. The sync process takes place in the background even when your Chromebook is turned off. Password sharing using Nearby SharePhone Hub isn’t the only thing that’s been updated with Chrome OS 103. The update also adds the ability to share your Wi-Fi password using the Nearby Share feature. Users can now use Nearby share on their Android smartphone to share Wi-Fi passwords with their Chromebooks and quickly connect them to the Wi-Fi network. Fast Pair support will arrive later. Along with the new updates, Google has also confirmed an upcoming feature. The company has confirmed that the Fast Pair feature will hit Chromebooks with a future update later this year. For those unfamiliar with Fast Pair, users can quickly connect compatible Bluetooth devices. It also links your Bluetooth device to your Google Account so that it can also work on other Google-linked devices.
