A WOMAN who was mortally wounded in a murder investigation has been named locally as a “much-loved” college professor.
Italian media have named Dr. Antonella Castelvedere, 52, the victim of a fatal incident after her family spoke out.
An investigation into the murder began after his death at an address on Wickham Road, Colchester.
Police arrived at the scene around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday after calls arrived with concerns about a woman’s well-being.
When they arrived, she was found to be seriously injured. He later died at the scene.

Officers also located a man who was injured on the farm. He was taken to hospital and arrested on suspicion of murder.
Suffolk University has confirmed in the Gazette that Dr. Castelvedere, a senior professor of English literature and leader of the creative and critical master’s course, has died.
A spokesman for the University of Suffolk is deeply saddened by the untimely death of Dr Antonella Castelvedere.
“Antonella was a highly respected and esteemed staff member at the university, where she was an excellent academic in English and critical writing.

The university’s website adds that Dr. Castelvedere had “long experience” in improving students ’experiences through her academic leadership, innovative curriculum design and professional partnerships.
The Italian press reports that the 52-year-old man comes from Brescia, a city in northern Italy, and leaves a young daughter.
Since the incident, Detective Chief Inspector Antony Alcock, who is leading the investigation, said a dedicated team of detectives is still rebuilding what happened.

He explained that officers are collecting accounts of people who have come forward to speak to them, and urged others who may have information to contact the force.
Alcock added: “I would also like to reiterate that our investigations so far suggest that this was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the general public in Colchester.”
Essex police said they could not comment on the woman’s identity at press time.
