A 40-year-old man from Sault Ste. Marie faces charges of driving with a disability after a collision in a shared parking lot on Highway 638.
Sault Ste. Marie OPP said in a press release that officers spoke to the driver at the crash site and transported them to Sault Ste. Marie for more sobriety tests.
Kelly Morris has been charged with two counts of operation while she was in a coma.

On June 17, 2022 shortly after 1 a.m., members of the Sault Ste. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment with the assistance of the Anishinabek Police Service responded to a collision with a motor vehicle located in a car park on Highway 638 in the city of Ontario. ‘Echo Bay.
Police arrived shortly afterwards and located the vehicle. While talking to the driver, police determined that alcohol had been consumed. The driver was arrested and taken to Sault Ste. Marie’s detachment where additional tests were performed.
As a result, 40-year-old Kelly Morris of Sault Ste. Marie, was accused of:
- Impaired functioning: alcohol and drugs, contrary to section 320.14 (1) (a) of the Penal Code (CC)
- Impaired functioning: blood alcohol concentration (more than 80), contrary to article 320.14 (1) (b) of the CC
The defendant is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste Marie on July 25, 2022. The defendant was issued a 90-day driver’s license (ADLS) suspension and the vehicle was be confiscated for seven days.
