Collorewood Moore offers update on injured knee

Collarcwood Darcy Moore has revealed he has no structural damage to his left knee.

The Australian defender hyper-extended his knee when he landed awkwardly in the final quarter of Saturday night’s narrow win over the Gold Coast Suns.

There was fear that Moore would have suffered a serious injury, but he suggested on Instagram that the news is positive.

Moore posted, “G’MORNING, there’s no structural damage to my knee, which is a big #yeetyeet thanks to everyone for the support messages, it’s really overwhelming and much appreciated also GO COLLINGWOOD.”

The club has also released a statement about Moore’s injury.

Collingwood key defender Darcy Moore had scans yesterday that have returned this morning without showing any structural damage to his left knee.

Explorations revealed bone bruises and a capsule tension in the knee, but the ligaments remain intact.

The 26-year-old hyper-extended his knee in a scoring competition in the final minutes of Pies ’round of 16 match against the Gold Coast Suns on Saturday night.

Moore will be evaluated later in the week.

The news is positive for the Magpies who are sixth in the standings with a 10-5 win and loss record and have already been left without defender Jeremy Howe (stomach virus) for victory over the Suns .

They will then face off at the end of the table, north of Melbourne, but it remains to be seen whether Moore will play at the MCG this Saturday afternoon or be sidelined for a period of time.
