Just a week after releasing its main trailer, Amazon Prime has released another official three-minute trailer for its mega-budget series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” following its unveiling at the Comic- cone
Expected to run for at least five seasons at a cost of over $1 billion and the show to be directed by Patrick McKay and JD Payne, the series is set in the Second Age of Middle Earth, thousands of years before of the events of “The Lord of the Rings”.
The story begins with the defeat of the evil god Morgoth and his apprentice, Sauron, has disappeared. Galadriel is chasing the last remnants of her collaborators who also killed her brother.
The cast includes Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Trystan Gravelle, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Lloyd Owen and Megan Richards . Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman and Sara Zwangobani.
JA Bayona (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”) is directing the first two episodes of the series, which premieres on September 2.
