COVID-19 update on July 2, 2022

WA Health reports a total of 4,878 new cases as of 6 p.m. last night. There are currently 28,993 active cases in Western Australia.

At 6pm last night, there were 218 people with COVID-19 in the hospital, 10 in the ICU.

Unfortunately, today’s report includes three deaths, dating back to June 23, which were reported yesterday at WA Health.

This includes two men in their 80s and a man in their 90s.

Due to confidentiality requirements, the Department will not provide further information on such cases.

Notes

  1. These data are based on the residential zip code of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remaining reported daily cases (55) do not yet have an assigned region. The data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 4,878 cases, 1,706 were confirmed by the PCR test, the remaining 3,172 were rapid self-reported positive antigen tests.

A total of 5,711 PCR tests were performed yesterday at public or private pathology clinics.

WA has recorded 913,704 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
